Tinywarlord Gameplay


The design of this game is also an opportunity to test a new type of gameplay. The player chooses his path at each intersection (north, south, east, west), must complete quests that are more of a didactic interest, and finally must resist the final attack on the kingdom. Starting out as a small warlord, the player gradually improves his skills, collects gold and, above all, recruits and feeds an army. The warlord moves around on horseback and can summon army units when stationary. His units are autonomous, and the world is a kind of ecosystem. He must choose his movements carefully. The innovative aspect of the gameplay lies in the way you can use your army and roam the world. 

This is the first time I've implemented this type of movement, where units must choose a path and the player can choose from several directions. I wanted to draw a little inspiration from the system in the books where you're the hero (Do you go north? or south?). I also wanted a real-time game for the dynamics of the game. I'm a big fan of the Warlords series and that was a source of inspiration for me.
